Back to Made by Us

Our sheep are kept for conservation grazing rather than meat production our ethos is conservation first: meat second, however our sheep are kept as productive flocks and we occasionaly have to reduce our stock levels and sometimes have mutton available.

The sale of our meat is important in helping us sustain the funding for our conservation grazing, an essential form of nature reserve management on many of our sites. However, so we never force slaughter our animals before they are ready, or remove animals from sites that need grazing in order to produce meat.

We operate on a waiting list system so please click on the Ask a Question button below to be notified of mutton availability.

Prices may vary but are usually around £35/45

Our mutton and lamb orders are available throughout the year, but in high demand! As with our beef – each of our animals is unique, so the exact weight of each cut may vary slightly but the table below gives a guide. The actual price you pay is based individually on the weight of each cut.

We currently sell our mutton and lamb as whole or half animals. Half a lamb costs between £35 and £45 and includes:

1 or 2 leg joints
4 chump steaks
6 lamb chops
Whole or half shoulder
Breast of lamb or breast mince
Neck Fillet

Contents may vary.

By purchasing meat from the Trust you are directly helping to fund our nature reserve management work throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and therefore benefiting wildlife.  Learn more about our Conservation Grazing and our methods of managing cattle.
