About silver clay:
Sometimes called Precious Metal Clay (PMC), is pure silver which comes in the form of a clay, which can be modelled to create unique designs. After shaping and refining, the clay is fired, which converts it into pure solid silver.
About the artist:
Hilary Bowen – Hilary lives and works in Breamore, near Salisbury, where she designs and makes silver jewellery. Most of her pieces are made from “silver clay”. This is pure silver which comes in a clay form, and when fired in a kiln becomes pure solid silver. Many of her designs are influenced by forms in nature, such as plants, insects, sea creatures, etc., and she often adds 22-carat gold and semi-precious stones for decoration. Many of her pieces are on display at galleries, mainly in Hampshire.
